trust technique
Helping animals & people to change their feelings, so that they can change their lives.
In Trust Technique we recognise that animals and people sense each other’s feelings and emotions. This is often unconscious and plays a big part in how we relate. The method teaches us how to always be able to choose peace and share this feeling with animals in a way that they can absorb. Trust Technique helps in changing behavioural patterns, relationship dynamics and general well-being. Through us slowing down and becoming more present and mindful we ignite healing and change for everyone and teach them how to let go of old stress patterns. The authentic and calm personality is then free to to shine through.
Whether you are caring for an animal who is battling with negative emotions and/or past trauma, or you are the one who is stuck in emotions like frustration, guilt, anger and anxiety while trying to help them, Trust Technique works to call us all home to our bigger selves where we can let go and let live. It cultivates inner peace, curiosity and patience together with deep mutual understanding and trust. Our own lives are greatly enhanced in the process as we develop the strength to always be able choose calmness no matter what is happening.
As a certified and registered Trust Technique practioner it is my pleasure to be your guide in this life changing journey for animals and humans.

“I don’t know where to begin to explain what it’s done for me. It broke something open, softened and eased something inside. I can step past my fears. It’s been such a gift.” Claudia Pretorius, Knysna

Follow ups We start by celebrating all changes and addressing challenges. We will refresh the essentials of doing the method and I will guide you in taking your practice deeper and deeper to meet you and your animal’s needs. "Under Kate's calm guidance and demonstration, I was gradually able to really connect with Bonnie on a totally different level. I now feel that I have a far better connection with him, in fact with both of my horses, and I will definitely recommend Kate to others. I am so glad that she came into my life quite by chance... Serendipity!!"

Some common questions answered
Is it as powerful working online as it is in person?
It is absolutely as powerful and I have witnessed beautiful changes happening through both online and in person session.
Why do recommend 3 sessions?
We work at the animal’s pace for change. Some are ready to let go quickly while others need more time and sometimes integrated practice into their training. Doing TT is also about you learning and growing with your animal. Clients find this deeply nourishing and life changing.
Do you do in person visit for dogs and cats?
At this point I don’t as I only have limited hours for driving. So I only do local outdoor yard visits with horses.

"Kate met us in a space without judgement and without unsolicited advise (which we are given too often), and made each session work 'differently' but within 'our' norm. I could see that my mare appreciated this as much as I did. And from there she gave us a way to be together peacefully and without chaos. A lot of magic happened over the time we worked with Kate. My mare and I will always be grateful. Kate is amazing. She sees every person and horse as individuals within the collective, and adapts all her talents and knowledge to custom shape the experience accordingly. This is a gift not many have, but one Kate has in abundance. I highly recommend Kate's services. Through her offerings, relationships with your animal deepen even further and then further again."

What an incredible and unforgettable experience! After a session with my horse Bagheera, my very shy donkey Kermit's demeanour started changing as well. He would come stand closer and closer to me as I practiced the Trust Technique. Then one day he allowed me to touch him. I still carry that joy for both of us in my heart. He now comes to me when he wants a scratch, groom or cuddle. I just love it that working with one animal, can also have such an influence on the surrounding ones. Nothing beats this heart connection!

"The Trust technique helped me build a new relationship with my dog Cody. There was a distrust between us that began already as a puppy. From the time she grew from puppy into "toddler" Cody started chasing and at times killing my chickens. This was a great point of stress. No matter what I tried to stop the behaviour she would continue and never listened to me. As time went on, she started ignoring me or running away if I simply called her for anything because she associated me with being cross with her about chasing the hens! The Trust technique has helped to foster a new relationship of respect and trust and as a result Cody listens much better and comes to me when I call her. It has been truly an enriching experience to work in such a mindful way, alongside the gentle guidance of Kate, on creating a new way of communicating with Cody and re-establishing an enjoyable friendship."
