Embodying flow, joy and strength in conscious co-creation with nature
This retreat is an invitation to consciously meet the wild dolphins of Ponto do Ouro, Mozambique and to co-create with nature. It is a journey of relaxing into the earth’s beauty and grounding ourselves in her strength, flow and joy. Through swims with the dolphins, devoted guided practices and fun free time we nurture the flame of life within us for soulful living.
Daily we engage with the wild wisdom of the earth all around us through animal communication, nature connection, mindfulness, guided visualizations, energy work, creative self-development, movement and dance. Our core intention is for authentic being in conscious relationship with the earth and her creatures. The dolphins are incredible teachers in this and are co-facilitators on the retreat with their powerful and playful presence.
Our key themes are establishing clear and conscious connections with nature, co-creating our lives with nature’s support and giving back through reciprocity and sacred earth activism. As we develop conscious relationships with nature she becomes a true friend and powerful ally. Our lives become infused and inspired by her magic as we open ourselves to communicate with her wisdom and know ourselves as truly part of the family of all life.
MEETING THE DOLPHINS, OCEAN & LAND
Wild pod encounters 2024 and a dolphin greeting Angie Gullman, founder of Dolphin Encountours
Our swims are with Angie Gullman, the founder of Dolphin Encountours. Angie has been consciously working with Dolphins of Ponta do Ouro for the past 30 years and is actively involved in their conservation.
Ponta do Ouro is a seaside village of Mozambique renowned for its diving close to the border with South Africa. It is a true African town with a melting pot of experiences, sights and sounds. The ocean here is part of a Marine Protected Area and the dolphins love the safe bays along this stretch of coastline. Whales also visit from July to October and turtles nest on the beaches from November to April.
OUR DAILY RHYTHMS
The ocean calls us at dawn and we rise early for our dolphin launches at 5:30am when the sea is at her quietest. We return for breakfast around 7am, followed by our soul sessions with nature from 9am to 12:30/ 13:00pm (includes a tea break). The afternoons are yours for free time, to be at the beach, explore the village or just enjoy the house with its wide deck overlooking the ocean. In the late afternoons there is an optional short session for an hour with a dolphin talk by Angie or a guided meditation with movement and dance.
Dinner is from 7pm, with 2 of our nights at a local restaurant and the other 3 meals on the deck of our lovely house. On Day 4 we have a day trip and beach braai at a beautiful snorkelling spot up the coast. As the launches are dependent on the weather our daily rhythms may change to prioritise dolphin launches.
Snorkeling introduction infront of our accommodation and catching some sun after a dolphin swim.
OUR ACCOMODATION
Looking out over the bay on the edge of the village we are based in 2 beach houses in the Mare el Sol estate. Mare el Sol is situated above a sheltered swimming beach on the edge of the village next to a small indigenous forest. It is also close to the boat launch area so we can literally stroll down the boardwalk to the ocean and our dolphin launches daily. See houses at these links for full details and images: #33 and #35
The houses have wide decks looking out over the ocean where we take our meals, as well as fully equipped kitchens. The secure estate is only a 10 minute walk to the market, shops and local restaurants. The retreat caters for all dinners and breakfasts. Dinners give us a delicious taste of the local seafood. Chicken and red meat options are also available, as are vegetarian and vegan options.
